Last night’s election proved votes do count, as well as your voice, according to Jefferson County Sheriff Elect, Jason Pollock who defeated incumbent Sheriff Marc Heckathorn.

Ranch Matters received the following post election statement from Pollock:

“This has been an amazing experience. It’s hard to put into words how I feel in this moment. What this election means is your vote counts, your voice counts.

Each person has a story, each person at some point in their life has been told they are not good enough or smart enough. The uphill battles I have faced for so many years, I hope gives each person the inspiration to try, take a chance, reach for your dreams.

If we work together as a community we can do great things. Thank you to all of the people who have supported, guided, and encouraged me to keep going.

I am going to take some time to soak all of this in.
I look forward to seeing how this transition will go and hope we have a smooth humble transition sooner rather than later. After all, per my opponent the whole reason for the third candidate was so we could conclude this in may, I hope he is true to his word.”
