RETIRING
By tommy szymanski

Earlier this week, Ranch Matters received an email from Frank Wood confirming he is resigning
from his pastoral position at Twin Rivers Community Church, “TRCC”, effective October 4,
2026. According to Frank’s email he announced his plans to retire on June 7, 2026, to his
congregation and warned Ranch Matters to only report the facts as he stated them or we
would be “dealt with appropriately.”
JUST THE FACTS
Last May, Ranch Matters contacted Frank Wood regarding a controversial matter and later,
rumors that he was retiring. We did not receive a response until this week.
Frank’s opening statement: “It seems odd to me that your ‘reliable’ source in our church has
never reported to you about the good news. It is odd that over the last seven years you never
inquired of me about the ‘New Church’ starting on the Ranch.”
In 2020, Ranch Matters attended multiple Jefferson County Planning Commission hearings,
Jefferson County Commissioner meetings and CRR Board of Directors meetings regarding
Frank Wood’s Church and Community Center Proposal-“New Church”. We interviewed stake
holders, impacted residents and obtained from the County public records as part of our series
of unvarnished reports.
In 2025, Ranch matters published several reports regarding TRCC’s efforts to seek funding for
their proposed Community Center and Gymnasium.
Additionally, in 2025, Ranch Matters published a story titled: “BE ON GUARD” regarding
church security matters. The story focused primarily on potential threats of an external nature, not internal threats.
Our report discussed an array of possible threats churches face-thefts, robberies and active
shooters to name a few, but as stated above, our focus dealt with external threats.
Many churches quietly have developed security and safety protocols as part of their overall
ministry and we knew Ranch Chapel Church had a Safety Committee for their congregation,
but did not know if TRCC had any similar safety/security policies.
On May 20, 2026, Ranch Matters contacted Frank Wood regarding safety/security policies and procedures TRCC has implemented that focused on both internal and external threats.
Frank responded on May 23, 2026: “Yes the church has a ‘Safety Policy’ and ‘Safety Plan’ regarding many areas of church life…”
Whether you approve or disapprove of Frank, you can’t take away the fact that he was the
driving force behind the planning, development and completion for his interactive Community
Church and Community Center. TRCC was his baby from start to finish and without his
leadership, persistence and dedication there most likely would not have been a TRCC.
It will be interesting to see who can fill Frank’s boots.
