TWO PLAYGROUNDS

At last night’s (9/21/20) Crooked River Ranch Board of Directors Meeting and during the Public Input session, former Ranch Director Carol Orr addressed the nasty conditions at Panorama Park. Ms. Orr noted the park is in dire need of of some immediate attention, specifically, weed abatement. She stated, “It’s not a cool place for the kids…”

Orr further commented that she had brought the noxious weed matter to Ranch Director Jerry Cooper’s attention via two unanswered emails that included photographs. He did not answer her emails and she asked him if he had visited the park.

Director Cooper responded, “I DID, I DIDN’T THINK IT WAS ALL THAT BAD.” Cooper added, “BUT THEN AGAIN, MY IDEA OF BEING, NICE & TIDY MIGHT BE DIFFERENT THAN YOURS.”

Today Ranch Matters checked out Panorama Park’s playground area and took several pics and verified Orr’s concerns. The playground area weed issue is important,

but additionally there is a safety concern involving snakes. As you enter the playground area there is a posted Rattlesnake Warning Sign. Rattlesnakes tend to hide not only under rocks, but also occupy vegetated areas that includes weeds of all types.

Note: According to Golf Course Superintendent Richard Jensen’s most recent monthly report, Noxious Weed Control Abatement is performed “within and surrounding the golf course.”

What would Cooper’s priorities be if this weed issue was in his own playground-THE GOLF COURSE?
