County Chair, Kelly Simmelink followed a prepared Agenda-

Important Coronavirus update by County Health Officer, Michael Baker.

*According to Mr. Baker, the Public Health Officials are dealing with an “INFODEMIC” and part of his role is to make sure the public is disseminated accurate information

He explained the Coronavirus has been around along time, but admitted there is not a lot known about the “New Coronavirus” and the Public Health Officials are “learning as they go.”

Baker stated that Central Oregon residents have a “unique” Public Health System working for them that includes all 3 Counties-Jefferson, Crook and Deschutes. This coalition is known as, “CENTRAL OREGON PUBLIC HEALTH PARTNERSHIP.”

*Robert Townsend from ODOT provided the Terrebonne Update that included what he described as the “Interchange Only” option that will be implemented at this time.

*The Commissioners discussed the Transient Room Tax that will be on the May Ballot. Property owners are not taking a hit on this one.

*The meeting concluded after some Public Comments from Ranch residents Karen Atwood, Herb Parker and Carl Harbour to name a few.
