On August 8, 2023, Redmond attorney Andrew Fitch from the law firm FITCH & NEARY, wrote the Crooked River Ranch Board of Directors regarding in part, the lien they recorded against Association homeowner Carol Orr’s property.

“It is hereby demanded that the Association Board immediately release the lien on Ms. Orr’s property and rescind all three Resolutions that were passed in June 2022.
The resolutions are unlawful, wholly arbitrary, violate public policy and impose an undue burden on members of the CRR Homeowners Association.

Through the policy resolution the Association Board circumvented the procedure in its declarations of CC&Rs (“Declaration”) to amend or add a new covenant, restriction and/or condition to the Declaration.
These actions have caused the Association to breach its contract between the Association Board and Ms. Orr.
The Association Board has also breached its fiduciary duty by levying fines for non-existent violations against Ms. Orr.”
“it is also my understanding that members of the Association Board in their capacity as Board members have made statements about Ms. Orr and other CRR HOA members within the Crooked River Ranch community.
These statements are false and defamatory. These statements have affected the reputation of Ms. Orr amongst members within their community. In addition to Ranch Matters, a media outlet who have assisted Ms. Orr with her defense of the lien.”
“It is hereby demanded that the Association Board and representatives of the board hereby CEASE AND DESIST making any and all defamatory statements against Carol Orr, Dave Stangland, John Stevens and Ranch Matters. Continued statements will result in actions by these individuals against the HOA.”
