“WHERE’S PGE?”
Portland General Electric (PGE) scheduled a non-public meeting for today at 9:00 a.m. to discuss the property tax refund/payback fiasco. However, they were a NO-SHOW.
In our story “UNDER THE RADAR” we reported that PGE was requesting that the meeting be closed to the media and public.
.
“PGE is requesting that the meeting not be a ‘public meeting’ so we ask it to be limited to members of governing bodies (but not a quorum of any governing body) and taxing district staff...”
.
WHAT HAPPENED?
.
According to Jefferson County Administrator Jeff Rasmussen, he heard from various media organizations and others that the meeting should be open to the public.
He let PGE spokesperson “Wendy” know that said meeting should be open to all and they declined to participate.
He further added, that PGE is actually reading Ranch Matters reports and that too influenced their decision not to participate.
As for the meeting, several of the impacted districts representatives attended including:
CRR Special Road District Chairman, Lynn Breeden, CRR Fire Chief Sean Hartley, CRR Fire Board Directors Joseph Costigan and Cole Gayheart, Jr.
The meeting opened with all parties introducing themselves and SRD Chairman asking,
“WHERE’S PGE?”
.
.
In lieu of attending today’s meeting PGE did offer up a gift or a $500,000 Grant to help ease their mistake.
It was their mistake and that fact was confirmed today.
