ROCKIN’ PIPES-SKERRYVORE

Skerryvore-A ROCK formation off the west coast of Scotland…

In the world of music, Skerryvore is a Scottish hyper-energy ROCK band that performed last night at the Tower Theatre in Bend.

The band mixed traditional Scottish instruments-fiddles, flutes, accordions and bagpipes along with standard Rock & Roll guitars, keyboards and the beat of loud throbbing drums that  electrified the audience.

Bagpipes in rock songs add a unique and continuous melody that resonated with the audience and was reminiscent of the AC/DC song use of bagpipes in “It’s a Long Way to the Top”, released about 50 years ago.

When you think Pipes, one typically thinks of Funerals and Weddings, but not Skerryvore.
