PROFIT vs AMENITIES

At Monday night's CRR/BOD MEETING, one topic of discussion that's been a sore point for many on the Ranch, was the Snack Shack. Specifically, why are the homeowners subsidizing the Shack since it's a money losing venture.
Ranch Manager Judy Lapora claims, even though its lost 16K over the last two years, its "an amenity" we need.
ARE THERE OTHER OPTIONS?
Today, Ranch Matters met with Jim Miller, owner of PRO-VEND Service in Bend, regarding the viability of placing vending machines on the Ranch.
According to Mr. Miller, he would be interested in exploring the possibility, but added it must make financial sense and not lose money. Miller understands the need to run a business profitability.
Miller gave us a tour of his facility, explained the variations of vending machines and the variety of food products available.
He further explained, if machines were placed on the Ranch they would be restocked on a regular basis. He noted an empty vending machine doesn't make any money.
Mr. Miller is willing to come to the Ranch and check out placement locations. He also asked us if we thought the Board Members would be receptive to this option.
Please share your thoughts.
