GUILTY X 6

Deschutes County Circuit Court Judge Michael Adler found 42-year old Shantel L. Witt, guilty of all 6 Charges today-Manslaughter in the First Degree, DUII, Recklessly Endangering Another Person X 2, Unlawful Possession of Oxycodone & Unlawful Possession of a Scheduled 4 Controlled Substance.

 

Before the judge read his verdict he explained the elements of the crimes along with the rationale for rendering his guilty verdicts.

The judge discussed Ms. Witt’s behavior before, during and after the crash. He stated she never once expressed the slightest degree of remorse for the victim even after seeing the victim on the ground.

After the verdict was read Ms. Witt was taken into custody and her sentencing hearing is scheduled for Tuesday, February 19, 2019, at 9:00 AM.
