GOVERNOR TINA KOTEK’S POST-FIRE STATEMENT

Ranch Matters contacted Oregon Governor Tina Kotek’s Office today for two reasons. First, to thank her personally for acting swiftly and decisively by invoking the Emergency Conflagration Act for the Alder Springs Fire in Jefferson County. And, to request a post-wildfire statement.
She promptly replied with the following statement:
“Firefighters are doing difficult work day and night, in intense heat and smoke, with increasing complexity as more wildfires turn to urban conflagrations.
Fire season has only just begun, and Oregonians across our state are already facing evacuations and disastrous consequences. I want to thank each firefighter that is on the front lines. There is no greater example of helping others than the way our firefighters’ put others’ lives ahead of their own.”
Again, thank you Governor Kotek.
