“GOVERNOR BROWN HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER ME”

NEW YEAR’S DAY PROTEST & MARCH

Salem, Oregon

   

A “MASS CIVIL DISOBEDIENCE RALLY & MARCH” organized by the Oregon Women For Trump gathered outside the Oregon State Capital in Salem today. Their plan also included marching from the Capital to the Governor’s Mansion.

Hundreds of people assembled in front of the Capital Building protesting against Governor Kate Brown’s lockdown mandate. We also observed other groups in attendance, including several members of the Proud Boys and whispers of Antifa circulating about.

The event kicked off about 1:00 PM with a series of speakers conveying messages of frustration, anger and calls to action.

Newly elected Clackamas County Commissioner, Tootie Smith, spoke against Governor Brown’s restrictions. Smith stated, Governor Brown gave OSHA... “GESTAPO LIKE AUTHORITY, TO INSTILL HISTORIC FEAR INTO OUR BUSINESS WHO DARE TO OPEN...”

Smith went on and said, “GOVERNOR BROWN HAS NO AUTHORITY OVER ME OR ANY OTHER ELECTED OFFICIAL IN OREGON.” “I STAND FOR FREEDOM...”

Smith ended her comments saying, “MAKE NO MISTAKE, THIS IS A HARD FOUGHT WAR...”

About 2:00 PM the Protestors started marching on Court Street westward heading for Brown’s residence.

We Followed

The Police were observed staging/marching a short distance from Brown’s residence prior to the arrival of the Protestors.

It took the Protestors about 40 minutes to make the trip from the Capital to Brown’s residence and they were greeted by several police officers lining the perimeter of the Governor’s Mansion.
