Last Thursday (1/31/19), Ranch Matters hosted an event featuring Bob Chard, State Coordinator for the State of Jefferson Movement (SOJ), who spent just over an hour on Crooked River Ranch presenting his rationale for the Movement and the meaning behind the DOUBLE X SYMBOL.

The meeting was well attended and included former, as well as current Ranch Officials.

According to Mr. Chard, the movement began in 1935 with an unhappy miner and logger involving taxation without fair representation, feeling a new state needed to be formed. Chard stressed they are not advocating removing a star from the flag, but rather adding one.

Chard attributed the method for adding the new state, to the US CONSTITUTION, Article 4, Section 3.
