CROOKED RIVER RANCH BOARD OF DIRECTORS MEETING

Ranch Matters attended last night's (11/19/18) Board of Directors Meeting.

Meeting started at 6:00 PM and ended at 8:00 PM and adjourned to Executive Session. All Board of Directors present with the exception of Director Jim Dille
President Carl Harbour followed the AGENDA
SOME HIGHLIGHTS:
During the PUBLIC INPUT portion Ranch Resident Karen Kilburn, discussed the Brown Bag Program at the Old Fire Hall along with asking about heating the building during the winter months.
Director Mike Folkestad presented information regarding HR 2075-Crooked River Ranch Fire Protection Act. Folkestad asked residents to "please call Senator Wyden's office in Washington, D.C. starting Monday, November 26, 2018 to urge him to recommend HR 2075 be moved out of the Natural Resource Committee to the full Senate for a vote with a "Do Pass" recommendation."

Folkestad passed the Mic to former Ranch Fire Chief Rich Hoffmann who discussed the potential fire dangers facing Ranch residents.
Hoffmann explained how quickly a wildland fire can spread, much like the catastrophic fire that destroyed Paradise, California. Hoffmann stated it's hard to predict the type of fire that could hit the Ranch and WARNING residents is an area of concern.

Under OLD BUSINESS (a) AR Log, ii, the Board discussed looking at an "Active Shooter Protocol" and Directors Mark Schneider and Stu Steinberg will be heading up the "Safety & Security Team."
As an aside, a Volunteer Driven, Security/Safety Program for the Ranch residents was under development and dismissed by Ranch Manager Judy Lapora and the Board a few years ago. This story will be fleshed out in a later report.
After the meeting, Ranch Matters spoke briefly with President Harbour regarding methods of Communicating Notices/Warnings for the Ranch residents.
