Jefferson County Court Case No: 18 CV 16980
Last February, Ranch Matters posted a story titled, "Dark State." The story focused in part, on former Ranch Director and named defendant Carol Orr's concerns regarding being "kept in the dark" on all matters related to the 2016 Ballot Measure Lawsuit. She has never received any written case related documents or status reports.
Carol asked rhetorically, am I the only defendant in the dark, or are all of the defendants in the dark?
HAS ANYTHING CHANGED?
According to Ms. Orr, "NO."
Ms. Orr is "tired of being kept in the dark" and added, "it's time for the Public-Ranch Members to know what's really going on."
Due to the lack of information and out of frustration, Ms. Orr felt compelled to reach out to the court seeking some direction and or guidance. The court advised her to "cc" her letter to all attorneys. She complied and later received a "troubling" email from her attorney that she described as a "threat.”
Ms. Orr doesn't take threats, of any nature, lightly, so she contacted the Oregon State Bar regarding her attorney’s response along with asking for help.
