WILDFIRE RELIEF REPORT

Ranch Matters stopped by the Deschutes County EXPO CENTER and learned the Center is not be used as an actual evacuation location, but rather as a “REGISTRATION POINT.”

According to Susan, a Red Cross Volunteer and “Evacuation Point Person,” the Expo Center is being used for registering families in need and sending them to local motels.

To date “over 200 people” have been assisted and provided temporary housing at the Super 8 Motel, My Place and the Hampton Inn.

The American Red Cross is providing motel vouchers along with food bags.

Susan also confirmed that the COVID Crisis is the reason why evacuees are not being housed at the Expo Center.
