“WE THE PEOPLE…”

Last night (3/31/21), JR Brooks, the newly elected Chairman of the Jefferson County Republican Party (“JCRP”) mustered the troops at the Sandbagger Saloon on Crooked River Ranch.

Brooks opened his remarks by stating: “I’m frustrated with the way things are going in the World today. Frustrated with the way things are going in the State today. I’m frustrated with the Political System. I’m EXTREMELY frustrated with the Republican Party, right now.”

Brooks explained, “WE THE PEOPLE, ARE THE ONES THAT HAVE GOT TO MOVE FORWARD…” Elected officials aren’t going to fix the problems.

Brooks is calling for re-organizing the Republican Party along with unifying its members. The “infighting” in the State is dividing the Party and it needs to stop. According to Brooks, “We have an enemy out there and the enemy isn’t the Democrats…” “Our enemy, are those that wish to divide us.”

Brooks is mission oriented and is calling for people to get involved with skill sets that can be utilized to fight smart. He believes its time to activate, motivate, educate and communicate strategically.

.

Brooks spoke for about 30 minutes and ended his presentation by introducing State Senator Lynn Findley who appeared via zoom.

Senator Findley opened his remarks by thanking Brooks for the invitation and immediately stressed the need for unity. He said, “unity is a thing we must have.” He stated the infighting, the attacks, have got to stop and the Party has to work together “or we’re toast.”

Switching gears, Findley explained why he didn’t walk out and stayed on the Senate floor during SB 554 legislative proceedings. He stated the Senate has work to do and creating a record of deficiencies regarding SB 554 was extremely important.

Findley stressed he’s a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and has a concealed carry permit. Findley has a dog in this fight.
