UPDATE/“WAR AGAINST GOD”
.
“The CC&R Committee has determined the complaint to be CORRECTED SATISFACTORILY. We are therefore closing this complaint.”
The CC&R Committee sent Ranch resident Carol Orr an unsigned letter, dated 10/3, informing her that they closed her Pride Flag complaint.
The letter:
“As part of our commitment to keep complainants informed of the handling of their complaint, we are providing you with an update regarding your complaint.
The CC&R Committee has determined the complaint to be corrected satisfactorily. We are therefore closing this complaint.”
“CORRECTED SATISFACTORILY”?
“SATISFACTORILY” for whom?
REWIND
On 10/03/23, Ranch Matters published a story titled: “WAR AGAINST GOD” where we reported in part, that Ranch Manager, Judy Lapora pitched to the Board of Directors at their 10/02/23, meeting, changes to the Policy & Procedures Handbook, allowing for the PRIDE/ DIVERSITY Flag to be an “APPROVED” Flag and it was approved.
The alphabet/pride flag issue was initially brought to the CC&R Committee’s attention by resident Carol Orr last June. She asked the Committee:
“Gay alphabet pride flag -IS THIS AN APPROVED CC&R FLAG?”
On July 7 she received the following response from the CC&R Committee:
“The CC&R Committee will investigate your complaint as soon as possible. We will let you know our determination of its validity.”
“WILL INVESTIGATE”
July 11, Ms. Orr received a status report from the CC&R Committee that confirmed the validity of her complaint.
“The CC&R Committee has investigated your complaint and found it to be valid. We have contacted the property owner and will be continuing our efforts to work with the owner to abate the the problem. We will make every effort to periodically inform you of the status of your complaint.”
“FOUND IT TO BE VALID”
July 18, CC&R COMMITTEE MINUTES:
“23-24-dtd 7/3/23-Alphabet Flag-Rainbow flag hard to see unless wind is blowing & in trees. Letter sent to seek ARC approval or take down.”
“ARC”?
The 8/15, CC&R COMMITTEE MINUTES, Section C (2) states:
23-24-dtd-7/3/23-Alphabet Flag-Rainbow flag hard to see unless the wind is blowing & is in the trees. 3rd letter sent. No indication of request ARC for approval or take down. Could move to open violation if no response to 3rd letter.”
The CC&R Committee investigated the matter and found the alphabet/pride flag complaint to be VALID.
CASE CLOSED-NOT SO FAST!
Apparently CC&R’s decision wasn’t the prescribed answer and the matter was appealed to a higher authority- Lapora.
Ms. Orr: “How did my complaint go from VALID to INVALID and what specifically was done- behind the scenes?”
“Since Lapora added the word ‘inclusive’ to the Policy & Procedures Handbook has she set a precedent?”
“Is this a case of selective enforcement?”
