Last night’s (9/13/23), Jefferson County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting was held on the Ranch in the Juniper Room. It started at 6:00 p.m. and ended about 7:00 p.m.
County Chair, Kelly Simmelink facilitated the meeting that included Commissioners Wayne Fording and Mark Wunsch.

The meeting focused primarily on the Commissioners interviewing Special Road District (SRD) Applicants that included four submissions for the three vacant SRD Director positions.
THE APPLICANTS

*Jim Hussey
*Lynn Breeden
After the Applicants were interviewed Commissioner Fording made a motion to appoint Jeff Parcel to Position number one, Ed Thompson to Position number two and Lynn Breeden to Position number three.
The vote was unanimous.

Public Input was allowed that included comments for and against certain Applicants.
Applicant Jim Hussey was specifically targeted by former Ranch President Bill Burt regarding the Sundown Canyon Road Water Vault controversy and Mr. Hussey’s position on the CRR Water Company Board.
Burt highlighted potential conflict issues while preaching his understanding of conflicts.

The discussion was lively, interesting and somewhat entertaining for those honestly familiar with the shadowy side of Crooked River Ranch.

After the meeting ended, Jefferson County Deputy Clerk, Lyndsey Hessel, administered the Oath of Office.
