SUSPENDED

Madras attorney William E. Carl has been the subject of multiple stories on Ranch Matters (RM) and today we learned his license to practice law will be suspended as of August 28, 2023.

RM has obtained a copy of the Oregon Supreme Court’s ORDER that lists some serious allegations against attorney Carl as it relates in part, to his relationship with Kathleen (Katie) Dundom.

ORDER ATTACHED

Today, Katie Dundom contacted us and stated,

“I am so thankful for the Oregon State Bar’s investigation and the outcome. They did a very good job stating the facts and appropriately acting. I am thankful for the Supreme Courts decision regarding this matter. The public now knows the facts. The courts too.”

“This lawyer will not be hurting his clients any longer. He was offered so many chances from all of us. He took advantage of his position as a lawyer and hurt us all.”

“Today is a huge day for justice, for me, my kids, my family and for all of the clients he hurt.”

“This has been a long and hard battle, but I wasn’t fighting it alone. THE BATTLE IS/WAS THE LORD’S and I thank and praise Jesus for helping me get through this.”

REWIND

In June of 2022, we reported that Carl had been arrested, not one, but twice within the space of a few hours for allegedly violating a restraining order filed ex parte by Ms. Dundom. She sat down with us and explained why she filed the restraining order against William Carl along with concerns regarding how the judicial system handles domestic violence.

In Katie’s June 2022 interview, she told us the restraining order was filed over “safety and abuse issues.” She said “I’m a victim of domestic violence and I had a very very hard time getting support…”

We reached out to Carl in June of 2022 and scheduled a couple of in person meetings, but Carl cancelled them. However, he did respond to some questions regarding the restraining order and Katie’s interview with us. He also was offered an opportunity to view her video interview, but declined.

Besides denying the allegations contained in her restraining order he initially stated,

“Okay, so matters turned ludicrous and I cannot really comment on pending criminal charges.”

Carl later messaged us the following comments:

“Why is she saying all this?”

“Just make sure it’s clear that this all is based on an email ex parte RO and allegations, without investigation, into the alleged violations. It doesn’t matter who I see or talk to cause if nobody can see the pattern for the last four years of this woman trying to dismantle me at every opportunity, then I don’t think anything I’m gonna say is going to reach anyone anyway.

I’ll deal with the cops, DA, and the Bar, but I’m not engaging in this. Maybe eventually but right now I have serious problems to deal with and once again for doing nothing wrong.”

Lastly, Carl stated, “Listen, the way this town, the media, the courts and everybody has embraced what is objectively against me, nothing I say is going to change anything. I’m done talking.”
