SHOW US THE MONEY

Ranch Matters posted a story on 10/23/19, titled, FROM THE FIRE, INTO THE FRYING PAN, about a MEMORANDUM from the Office of Public Defense Services (OPDS), regarding their decision not to renew the contract for the MADRAS INDIGENT DEFENSE CONSORTIUM (“MIDC”).

We obtained a Copy of the CONTRACT between OPDS and the contractor for MIDC, Timothy R. Gassner. It reflects in part, the PAYMENT SCHEDULE starting from January 2018 and ending on December 31, 2019.

Additionally, OPDS sent us three (3) letters, one from the law firm of Glenn, Reeder & Gassner, LLP, dated 10/15/19, signed by managing attorney, Timothy R. Gassner and attorney David Glenn.

Second letter, dated 10/23/19, from the Jefferson County Board Of Commissioners, signed by Commission Chair Mae Huston, Commissioner Wayne Fording and Commissioner Kelly Simmelink.

The last undated letter signed by Senior Judge, Daniel J. Ahern.

Interestingly, none of the letters address the actual reasons behind the non-renewal of the contract, but appears to be primarily only about money.
