SDC FUNDS-WHO’S MONEY?

.

At last Wednesday’s (11/9/22), Special Road District (SRD) meeting we reported that SRD
Chairperson Sue Haley provided some recent updates regarding SDC (System Development
Charge) funds and projects.

.

She, thought, but wasn’t sure, the SDC amount currently available was $177,000. She also confirmed the SRD is proceeding with the construction of the Apron Project.

.

We reported that we checked with the Jefferson County website and confirmed the current SDC funds available as $281,656.60, but the amount is actually $286,818 according to
Jefferson County Administrator Jeff Rasmussen.

.

Some of our readers have asked us about SDC funding

.

Who administers it, how it works and who control the actual funds?

.

Rasmussen confirmed the SDC funds are not owned or controlled by the Crooked River Ranch (CRR) Association or CRR/SRD.

.

Rasmussen provided information that explains,

“A System Development Charge (SDC) is a one-time charge on new development and certain types of redevelopment, which increase the expected demand on the county’s transportation system.”

.

.

SEE ATTACHED REPORT FOR FURTHER DETAILS that includes the current PER DWELLING ROAD SDC amount as $2,160.48.

.

As an aside, the MacPherson Development Proposal to build 54 residential lots on CRR would
be subject to the PER DWELLING CHARGE along with other fees.
