RE: Question & Public Records Request

Ms. Andresen:

Yesterday you posted the May 3, 2017, Jefferson County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting Minutes.

We have a couple of questions. In your written minutes you state the following about CRR Director Jim Dille at 9:00 A.M.: “Jim Dille, Crooked River Ranch resident, thanked the Commission for their help with the order for the enhanced law enforcement on the ranch, and thanked Commissioner Huston for attending their HOA meetings on a regualr basis.” If memory serves us Director Dillie made his public statement regarding the tax levy proposal at about 10:15 A.M. & not 9:00 A.M. Can you please provide us in accordance with Oregon’s Public Records Law the record of Director Dille’s testimony and the time of his testimony?

Additionally, it should be noted that my public comments are conspicuously absent from the minutes. Again, in accordance with Oregon’s Public Records Law can you please provide the record of my public comments.

On May 4, 2017, a hand-delivered letter was submitted to you personally at your office. Is there a record of this letter in the County Commissions file for the Enhanced Sheriff Patrol District? We would like an opportunity to Inspect and or Copy the Commissioner’s file regarding the Enhanced Patrol District.

In the March 22, 2017, Jefferson County Board of Commissioner’s Meeting Minutes, Director Jim Dille comments are recorded as follows: “Jim Dille, Crooked River Ranch resident and HOA Treasurer, stated he presented a resolution to the board of the Home Owner’s Association on Monday, March 20th, requesting the Board of County Commissioners initiate the creation of an Enhanced Sheriff Patrol District at Crooked River Ranch.”

The State of Oregon has a policy of “openness.” Informing the taxpaying public on how our government is functioning is central to this openness.

We are asking for a fee waiver or at least a reduction regarding our aforementioned records request because it’s in the public’s best interest.

Thank you.
