Today, Ranch Matters spent the day at the Madras Airport talking to pilots and aircrew personnel as they prepared for Friday’s take off.

JETJOCK, Gerod Flohr, Call Sign “Tile”, fly’s a restored Vietnam era A-4 Skyhawk fighter attack jet.

Further down the tarmac we took a sentimental journey figuratively and literally. The Commemorative Air Force based out of Arizona flew in a restored WW II era B-17 Flying Fortress Bomber named

“SENTIMENTAL JOURNEY.”

Crew Member, Bill Croutch took time out of his busy day and provided us not only with a guided tour of the bomber, but also an interesting history lesson involving the men who flew missions over Europe during the war.

Croutch emphasized the importance of the bomb bay doors (“DOORS OF HONOR”) on the bottom of the aircraft and stated: “There are signatures on bomb bay doors of WWII veterans…”

AIRSHOW closes Saturday at 5:00 PM.

Admission FREE for veterans with ID.

Kids 5 & under also FREE.
