“ONLY GOLFERS SHOULD BE ALLOWED ON THE GOLF COURSE-PERIOD” CRR Director Stephanie Proffitt

“PERIOD”?

Not so fast Stephanie. Did you check in with Ranch President Carl Harbour? He’s got some plans of his own regarding golf course usage. Apparently Harbour is exploring the idea of allowing skiers to access the golf course in the winter months.

You can’t WALK on golf course paths, but you might be able to ski on them.

WHAT ARE WE TALKING ABOUT?

At last weeks Budget Audit Committee (BAC) MEETING, Harbour asked Ranch Golf Course Superintendent Richard Jensen, “Would you consider, in the winter months, when there is snow on the ground, open up the golf course to cross country skiers. The reason I ask, Eagle Crest allows that…”

As previously reported, Ranch Matters (RM) published a series of reports regarding RM-John Stevens and Dave Stangland being trespassed from the golf course by Golf Course Superintendent, Richard Jensen, while covering acts of vandalism on the Course last April.

Jefferson County Sheriff Jim Adkins weighed in and said, “We (RM) are the first to be trespassed from the golf course” and to make his point, he added, “People walk the paths all the time.”

According to Jensen and certain Ranch Directors, Association members have no right to walk on the golf course paths.

At the August 3, 2020, Work Session Meeting, Director/Treasurer and golf liaison, Jerry Cooper provided his golf course report. Cooper described walkers on the Course as a “GROWING PROBLEM” and referred to the April Trespass Incident as unfortunate. He stated, “We certainly don’t want to have another unfortunate incident like we did with Mr. Stevens.”

Cooper and the Board, including Director Stephanie Proffitt discussed ways to create MORE RESTRICTIONS along with tightening enforcement measures. Proffitt said, “Only golfers should be allowed on the golf course-PERIOD.”
