Do As I Say, Not As I do-Another case of Double Standards at CRR.

At the August 20, 2018, Board of Director’s Meeting, the BOD was prepared to vote on a new RESOLUTION (2018-08-20), prohibiting all audio and video recording of Board Meetings.

“This Resolution shall constitute a standing rule prohibiting the use of audio and video recording devices by any Director or member of the Association, or any other individual attending the meeting of the Board of Director’s.”

At the July 16, 2018, Board of Directors Meeting, non-member (?) Cheryl Keyston, wife of FORMER Vice President David Keyston, demanded filming to cease. Former BOD President, David Palmer then followed Keyston’s direction, ordering all filming to stop.

Interestingly, at the September 6, 2018, Work Session Meeting, we observed what appears to be two newly installed video recording devices in the Juniper Room.

You might recall that on July 26, 2018, Ranch Matters hosted a catered Workshop with presenter Ms. Ginger McCall, Oregon’s First Public Records Advocate.
Pictures from the event will reveal that there were no devices in place at that time.

Curiously, in Line 5 of the proposed Resolution, it states in part, “The Board further recognizes that the use of audio or video recording devices during Board meetings may influence a Director’s or member’s willingness to express concerns or speak freely.”

So, the BOD has installed CAMERAS?

QUESTIONS:
When were these recording devices installed?
By whom?
What was the cost for cameras and installation?
WHY were the cameras installed?

The BOD is expected to vote and approve Resolution 2018-08-20 at the next Regular Board Meeting, scheduled for September 17, 2018.
