KILLER LETTERS-Part 2

“…HE LIKES BLACK LEATHER BOOTS & WHINES WHEN I TAKE THEM OFF”

Last Friday (8/13/21), we posted KILLER LETTERS as part of a series of reports regarding convicted child killer, Diane Downs. We explained that in 1987, crime writer, Ann Rule wrote the book Small Sacrifices that later turned into a television movie based on Rule’s book of the same name.

As reported, in 1987, private investigator John Stevens was brought into the case and as part of his involvement, he received multiple handwritten letters from Diane Downs.

Stevens also received from Diane Downs a copy of Rule’s book where Downs highlights and makes comments throughout the book.

According to one of Diane Downs’ letters, Ann Rule painted a false picture regarding her sexuality and the unidentified reporter that got her pregnant with Amy. Diane stated in part, “How about the fact that Amy’s father was a reporter that called me and seduced me, four months after the shooting. Everyone knows he’s a reporter because the media went nuts trying to get me to give up his name and I never did.”

Diane goes on, “ Rule paints him as a shy and retiring school teacher that was a victim to my manipulative wiles and who didn’t stand a chance against my ‘magic’…” “I have never gone to bed with a man I had to seduce.”

“…Rule paints Amy’s father as being an innocent victim and he wasn’t.” “He took what what he wanted. Rule didn’t mention that he likes to grab a handful of hair, pull my head back and devour my mouth and neck, now did she.? Or that he likes black leather boats (boots) and whines when I take them off-she (Rule) omitted ALOT.”
