Day 44, what’s new? According to Jefferson County Commissioner/Chair, Kelly Simmelink there is some BREAKING NEWS. The Boat Ramp at Lake Billy Chinook will be opened on or before this next weekend.
Simmelink provided us with a copy of Governor Brown’s latest Press Release,
“OPENING OF STATE RECREATIONAL AREAS”
He also stated the Commission has prepared their Re-Opening Plan for submission to the Governor tomorrow. If all goes according to plan, there could be some Re-Openings by May 15th.
Simmelink discussed the upcoming Transient Room Tax Increase on the May Ballot. He stated the tax increase only applies to tourists using lodging facilities in the County, not the local property owners. Simmelink added how the tax revenue will be used for various public works projects, including possibly the Panorama Park on the Ranch.
Simmelink confirmed there are now “14” confirmed Covid-19 cases in the County. None of the reported cases have involved hospitalization.
