JEFFERSON COUNTY CHIEF LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER SPEAKS OUT
Do you know his name? Good chance you don’t and that’s because Jefferson County District Attorney (DA) Steven Leriche prefers to work behind-the-scenes.
Leriche typically avoids the spotlight, but today, he sat down with Ranch Matters because he’s seriously concerned about what’s happening to our criminal justice system in Salem.
Leriche sees the last couple of Legislative Sessions spending an inordinate amount of time monkeying with criminal law matters and wants the citizens of Jefferson County to be aware of the machinations behind the proposed changes.
He cites HB 2002 and the “attack on Measure 11” by its proponents, under the guise of reform, as disturbing and disingenuous.
According to Leriche, the new “favored class” is the criminal class and he’s asking why. “Right’s, privileges and opportunities for the criminal have greatly increased in Oregon while the victims have been “vastly ignored.”
Leriche stressed citizens need to learn what’s going on in Salem and asked voters to contact:
State Representative Daniel Bonham
State Senator Lynn Findley.
