Jefferson County Undersheriff, Marc Heckathorn provided additional information regarding the current radio system deficiencies and the benefits of the new proposed system that will improve communications throughout Cooked River Ranch (CRR) and beyond. According to Heckathorn, his deputies have experienced communication difficulties due to the terrain…

Heckathorn also confirmed that at this time, there are no plans to encrypt the communication signals other than their tactical frequency.

No additional costs to the taxpayers.
