“SAVE OUR COMMUNITY SPACE”
Part 2
Continuation of Rollin “Steve” Farasyn’s “Save Our Community Space” meeting last Thursday (3/3/22), at the Heritage House.
This segment focuses primarily on Jefferson County Community Development Director, Scott Edelman’s presentation. Director Edelman stated his attendance was based on information gathering, along with explaining the process the Planning Department must follow. He stated:
“We’re playing catch-up-this came up quick for us.”
Edelman confirmed the Application submitted by Ranch Manager Judy Lapora on February 23 is on “HOLD.” He stated: “We didn’t know of the opposition…” “So I asked Judy if she wanted to move forward with it…” “Judy said put it on hold…”
Edelman added: “It’s not been approved yet.”
Director Edelman encouraged the residents to call him with any of their concerns or questions and provided his direct cell phone number-541/350-8549.
Edelman fielded many questions ranging from legal ramifications, timing, safety/security matters, traffic and fire danger. Many in attendance offered their personal experiences regarding rodeo events and emergency issues.
