KTVZ reported earlier today that Governor Kate Brown appointed State Rep. Mike McLane to fill the vacancy created by retiring Presiding Judge Daniel Ahern last March. McLane’s appointment is to the 22nd Judicial District Circuit Court, which includes Jefferson and Crook Counties.

Interestingly, KTVZ’s story did not mention anything about the other applicants that included, according to a story in the Madras Pioneer on March 27, 2019, Tim Gassner, Jered Reid and Victoria Moffett.

The Story titled, “Reid, Gassner both finalists for judgeship” reports that Governor Kate Brown will be choosing one of the above finalists, but apparently the Governor preferred McLane.
