Ranch Matters met briefly with Jefferson County Sheriff, Jim Adkins today while on the Warm Springs Reservation.
We asked Adkins, why is he now, assigning deputies to our Ranch Board Meetings. It was explained that there are some Ranch Members concerned that his deputies are acting as the Board’s private security after the passage of the questionable Conduct Resolution last September.
Adkins had this to say, “The assignment of deputies has absolutely nothing to do with the Conduct Resolution.” He added, “His assigned deputies are serving him personally by providing him with details surrounding said meetings and not having to rely on others.”
According to Adkins his deputies also attend public meetings held in Culver and Metolius.
Ranch Matters invited Sheriff Adkins to attend our next Regular Board Meeting and he indicated that’s unlikely.
