CROOKED RIVER RANCH WEBSITE-STILL DOWN
.
Status Report
.
On 11/28/22, Ranch Matters (RM) published an ALERT regarding the Ranch Website.
.
We reported that when we attempted to access the website over the Thanksgiving weekend the site was DOWN.
.
We contacted the Ranch Administration and informed them of the situation and they confirmed not being aware of the problem and thanked us.
.
Following the above we published regular updates that included:
.
“TECHNOLOGY ISSUES STRIKE CRR”
“CONCRETE EVIDENCE”
“UPDATE-CONCRETE EVIDENCE”
.
WHAT’S THE LATEST?
Weeks later the website is still down and there is no restoration timeline offered the membership.
.
At the Boards Work Session Meeting on January 3, 2023, President Kari Vickery and the Board discussed the problems surrounding the website fiasco and confirmed the former website can’t be resurrected.
Some “hybrid” person or lady was apparently consulted that operates a website company in Redmond.
.
Ranch Manager Judy Lapora indicated that she spent 3 hours with this unidentified lady and they’re working on a “long list of things” together for the Administration.
.
Vickery started she has a “wish list” of extras she wants added and passed them along to this woman in Redmond. Vickery described her extras as the “Wow Stage.”
.
If not for Ranch VP Ara Erdekian interjecting and asking questions, the woman’s company identified as “Simplify Simple” may not have been made public.
Costs, including extras and
the restoration of the website is unknown.
.
Director Erdekian’s questions also confirmed that the Ranch IT guy-Matthew Stubbs will
continue providing IT services along with Simplify Simple’s services.
.
COULD THIS MESS HAVE BEEN AVOIDED?
.
In our 12/7 story, “Concrete Evidence” we reported that Matthew Stubbs from Cascade
Professional Computing attended via zoom the Board’s 12/5 meeting. Matthew Stubbs
provided his version of events that triggered the website issues that included an interesting tidbit.
Matthew confirmed talking to to Manager Judy Lapora “about two and a half years ago
about the FRAMEWORK and that it needed to be updated-things kinda got put on the back
burner, we knew CONCRETE 5 was getting old and had some issues…”.
.
Matthew recommend
switching to another hosting service.
.
“TWO & A HALF YEARS AGO” Stubbs warned Lapora.
.
OLD NEWS
.
At the July 2013 Regular Board Meeting, the Minutes discussed communication matters that included the following statement:
“Pioneer CRR Correspondent John Bowler expressed his concern to President Johnson earlier about getting information to CRR residents in a timely manner.
He also expressed concern over the website structure and format.”
.
A month later, at the August 2013 Publicity Committee Meeting, the Minutes included: “Paula said she will speak to Judy (Lapora) when she returns from vacation about the need for the website to be better monitored and updated.”
.
OVERSIGHT?
.
According to the Policy & Procedures Handbook, the Ranch Secretary also has some website responsibilities.
“The Secretary shall have oversight of website content and oversee the keeping of appropriate records showing the members of the Association and their address.”
Further, the Policy & Procedures Handbook clearly points out what the Ranch website must
provide the Association members:
.
*All public meeting notices and supporting documents
.
*Board of Directors meeting agendas
.
*Board of Directors meeting minutes
.
*Contact information for the Ranch Manager and Board of Directors
.
*Board-approved Resolutions
.
*Complete set of Covenants, Conditions & Restrictions (CC&Rs)
.
Extras are nice, but its more important that the members have access to accurate and timely information and as a reminder, the members foot the bill.
.
The website or some temporary communication platform needs to be activated as soon as
possible.
