Horny Hollow Trail Maintenance:

As posted in Ranch Matters last months SRD Report, there was a lengthy discussion regarding the maintenance of Horny Hollow Trail based on a letter the Ranch and SRD received from an unnamed Horny Hollow Trail resident. Various options were covered that included the residents forming their own Local Improvement District.

Commissioner House stated she planned on contacting the subject resident and invite him to the next SRD meeting.

.

Today, Nick Hughes, representing the residents of Horny Hollow Trail pitched his case for some road maintenance. Chairperson Haley provided Mr. Hughes with some background and explained that the SRD doesn’t have the funding at this time.

Mr. Hughes referred to earlier efforts by residents dating back to 2017 that included a submitted petition to the Ranch. However, according to Mr. Hughes, there are no records or minutes memorializing the particulars. He stated the minutes are missing and referred to a video dated August 8, 2018, where he stated, “There was a lengthy discussion of maintenance on the road down there and what needed to be done and what was gonna be done.” Chairperson Haley asked him “Can you get your hands on that video?” Mr. Hughes responded, “It’s on Ranch Matters…”

Chairperson Haley said she personally conducted a search of “All the Board Regular Meeting Minutes, Work Session Minutes and all of the SRD Minutes and couldn’t find anything stating we (SRD) agreed to build up the shoulders, which I believe we did at the time…”

MISSING MINUTES?

.

Road Superintendent Jones offered to re-gravel the shoulders sometime next summer along with looking at doing some crack sealing. He quickly added, “However, we’ve got several collector roads that are in need of the crack sealing, so it’s going to be up to the SRD to decide what roads are cracked sealed.”

Mr. Hughes thanked the Commission for their time and consideration.
