CRR/BOD WORK SESSION MEETING

Brief Report

Meeting started at 10:05 AM and adjourned to Executive Session at about 10:55 AM.

The following Ranch Directors in attendance: President Kari Vickery, VP Ara Erdekian, Treasurer Randy Peterson, Julia Randall, Sheryl Jones and Sarah Woolverton.

Director Mike Dries was absent.

Jefferson County Commissioner Mae Huston and CRR Fire & Rescue Acting Fire Chief, Sean Hartley in attendance.

Meeting facilitated by President Kari Vickery and she followed the attached AGENDA.

SOME HIGHLIGHTS:

General Maintenance Supervisor Mike Knoke provided the Board his emergency report regarding the Ranch phone system technical issues. The system has been down for about three weeks and the Board voted and approved hiring Cascade Tel to fix the problem. According to Knoke, the cause of the technical issue is related to a down Server purchased from CenturyLink and they no longer support the system.

President Kari Vickery proposed changing the Neighbor Helping Neighbor process that includes the creation of an “advisory committee” directed by Karen Atwood. Vickery explained the funds are donated by community members and are not the responsibility of the Board. Changing the process will require amending the current policy.

Agenda item g: “Update on Kurtz/Andrews vs. CRR Lawsuit” was postponed by President Vickery until the October 17, 2022, Regular Board Meeting.

Case Title: LISA ANDREWS, Plaintiff v. CRR CLUB & MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION, Defendant; CRR CLUB & MAINTENANCE ASSOCIATION, Third-Party Plaintiff v. KELLY DAVIS and ASHLEY STROUSE, Third-Party Defendants.

Case No. 21CV23519

Vickery reported they have received two applications for the two vacant Board positions and the deadline to submit an application is October 14.

Director Ara Erdekian stated, “…This is an amazing opportunity. It’s going to end up being about 10 months. So, someone is really going to get a chance to see if this is something they want to do without a three year commitment…”

“This is the perfect amount of time to fill in and really take the place of two men, who, one just felt like they weren’t being listened to and was kinda pushed aside and was tired of it. The other one, couldn’t emotionally come to grips with what this job entails. I would like to replace them with people who have an eye on the future-not just a seat filler.”

Former Ranch Director Jerry Cooper and Kevin Ellingsburg volunteered to serve on the Budget Audit Committee (BAC) and their applications were approved.

Meeting adjourned to Executive Session to discuss “Legal & Employee” issues.
