COMPLAINTS?

School Bus Conversion Plan-UpDate

As reported earlier, Ranch Matters obtained from Jefferson County 75 plus pages of documents regarding the Remer’s school buses and their school bus conversion plan/Application.

We knew their were more records that had not been produced by Jefferson County that included letters and complaints.

On October 17, 2019, we met personally with Jefferson County Code Enforcement Officer Tanya Cloutier at the Community Development Office. We asked to see the complete Remer file and Ms. Cloutier complied

Upon review of the Remer’s file we were unable to locate any LETTERS or COMPLAINTS and asked Ms. Cloutier about that. She replied, “There are no letters or complaints from any Ranch residents-just what’s in the file.”

Subsequently, we made an official Public Records Request with Jefferson County Counsel, Alexa Gassner. Again, asking for any and all letters or complaints that Jefferson County received.

Shortly thereafter, Ms. Gassner provided Ranch Matters with four (4) COMPLAINTS, minus the complainant information. However, the complaints provided to the County were actually CRR/CC&R Complaints forwarded to Jefferson County from the Ranch Administration.

As part of our follow-up, we met with the Remer’s and provided them with copies of the complaints and discussed the complaint process used by the Ranch vs. Jefferson County.
Onya Remer stated she intended to investigate how the two entities interact, including how exactly the process works.

On October 31, Ms. Remer contacted Ranch Manager, Judy Lapora regarding CC&R COMPLAINTS. According to Lapora, if the Ranch receives a complaint the Administration sends out a letter to the alleged violator. She added, if you didn’t receive a letter, “9 chances out of 10” there is no complaint. Lapora further stated, if there are any complaints, the alleged violator is Not allowed to see the complaints.
