COMMISSIONER COMPETITION 2024

.

THE RACE IS ON

.

Last November Ranch Matters (RM) reported that Ranch Director Ara Erdekian announced his intentions to challenge Jefferson County Commissioner Wayne Fording in the upcoming 2024 May Primaries. At that time Fording told RM he planned on campaigning for re-election, but has since dropped out of the race.

Erdekian, one of four contenders running for Jefferson County Commissioner Position #3 stated: “The Ranch is up against multiple problems and we’re up against the ceiling.” He added: “I think we need to start to make some noise”

“MAKE SOME NOISE”?

That’s funny given Erdekian’s particular style of management as a Ranch Director. Try asking the wrong questions, “MAKING SOME NOISE” at one of his board meetings and see what happens. You’ll face the real possibility of being FINED and even worse have a Lien placed against your home.

.

It was Erdekian and his colleagues on the Ranch Board that voted unanimously to impose three punitive resolutions, designed specifically to prohibit targeted homeowners of the association from making comments-NOISE.

.

Erdekian-the Board’s resolutions weaponized their ability to target, control and financially punish homeowners they deem the opposition.

.

Expressing one’s First Amendment’s rights at board meetings can be risky business and Erdekian wants to be a County Commissioner?

.

As for the other three contenders, hopefully they believe in ones Civil and Property Rights.

The right to speak up, ask questions, be treated with respect and not fear retaliation.

.

CONTENDERS:

*Seth R. Taylor, from Culver

.

*Richard R. Monitor, from Madras

.

*Brandie D. McNamee, from Antelope

.

* Ara Erdekian, from Crooked River Ranch

.

As an aside, RM reached out to Taylor, Monitor and McNamee and invited them to attend next Wednesday’s (03/13/24), Jefferson County Board of Commissioners Meeting on the Ranch.
