BILL’S CIRCUS

Last Monday’s (5/16/22), Regular Board Meeting was anything but Regular and conducted more like a circus with President Bill Burt playing the role of RINGMASTER.

.

Video Snippets Attached

.

The Circus Acts included Ringmaster Burt juggling agendas, magic acts and taming the lions.

.

Newly appointed Director Sheryl Jones was late for the show because she thought the meeting was in person at the Juniper Room.

.

Burt’s meeting was conducted via ZOOM and was a technical freak show.

.

The Administration posted their reading packet on May 13 that included two items of interest:

*“Director Status-Director Ebers”

*”Email Rules Regarding Quorums”

Ringmaster Burt magically removed the above items

from the Regular Discussion and slid them into Act II-Executive Session.

!!Poof!!

They disappeared.

.

Burt rushed through the meeting and the Public Input portion that included a question from resident Carol Orr and a lively discussion regarding in person meetings. Director Randy Peterson, apparently tired of the Orr question, asked Burt to adjourn to Executive Session.

.

Burt immediately adjourned the meeting to Executive Session without a vote. Additionally, Burt failed to state the general nature of the action to be considered in accordance with state law.

.

Approximately an hour later Burt reconvened the Irregular Meeting and failed to identify the true nature of his Executive Session.

Instead, he misdirected everyone’s attention to the cancelled rodeo-OLD NEWS?

.

Did Burt deliberately fail to summarize reasons for his Executive Session discussion that apparently focused in part, on Director Ebers and Quorums?

.

Was this an abuse of the Executive Session process and an attempt to use Executive Session for secrecy?
