BE A PAIN IN THE ASS

3/2/18, 5:45 PM

A group of concerned residents descended on the BLM DISTRICT OFFICE in Prineville today.

Several met personally with Dennis Teitzel, the District Manager and discussed several issues of interest.

SOME BULLET POINTS:

The agreement has not been signed yet & is between the BLM and Deschutes County.

The ROW has been conveyed to Deschutes County.

HOA is the “Key” and is responsible for the financing.

The BLM confirmed they “don’t dream this stuff up,” meaning projects like the Emergency Exit. “Somebody thought this road was a good idea.” Mr. Teitzel was unable to identify that somebody.

Teitzel stated he can be personally liable and sued for his decisions implying all of his decisions must be made carefully.

Deschutes County asked for the road to be paved and the paving requirement triggered all of the add-on items.

Teitzel confirmed he does not know who is responsible for some of the add-on items, including the fence requirement. Referred back to the Applicant-Deschutes County.

ROW Decision can be revisited with another Proposal…

IN A NUT SHELL:

The Process is going to move forward, but there are still options available…
Recommended that in the future ask questions, don’t be afraid to get involved

“BE A PAIN IN THE ASS.”
