IT’S A WRAP-2024

Eight years in the trenches and we’re still reporting stories other news groups can’t or won’t cover. Our journalistic style has drawn both praise and criticism.

Throughout the years Ranch Matters (RM) has stayed the course and uncovered some interesting facts and events that many would have preferred to be hidden.

Looking back, we’ve covered a lot of special reports that impacted the Ranch residents and the larger community as a whole.

NOT REPORTED:

Last fall, a rather humorous suggestion was presented to the Ranch Board regarding the placement of a Weed Wagon in the lower pasture as a part of their War on Weeds.

On the surface the Weed Wagon concept seemed silly. However, the City of Bend has employed the use of such a Wagon in their parks and have declared it a success.

Based in part on the above and in the interest of supporting the Ranch in their War against

Weeds, RM stepped up and offered to donate 1K for the Ranch to purchase and/or build their on Weed Wagon. Unknown at the time, our 1K donation carried a lot of red tape and was headed for a Ranch Committee that was already well funded. Additionally,

our donation was going to be held in limbo until the spring of 2025 and the Board proved to be communication challenged. Based on the above RM withdrew their 1K donation and in turn donated the 1K to the Ranch Senior Center on October 31, 2024.

2025 looks to be another roller-coaster ride and whether you live on the Ranch or elsewhere,

you’ll need reliable and timely information. We’ll do our best with the limited resources we have to continue bringing you factual and honest reports that other news organizations won’t or can’t report.

Remain vigilant-there are lots of potential dragons that need slaying. Don’t be afraid to question authority, hold those in leadership positions accountable and never surrender your freedoms.

Thank you and God Bless all of you in 2025.
